The other day, Eva (1) was playing with her doll. She’s too little to really play with it, but she does hold it and hug it. Then she’ll just look at that baby’s face and smile the biggest smiles!
Jackson (4) was watching her. “You know why Eva smiles at her baby?” he asked us.
“Why?” We half-heartedly asked, barely paying attention.
“Cause it’s smiling at her.”
Pretty profound from a 4-year-old. Babies copy our actions, attitudes, and facial expressions. Think about it… everything they learn, they learn by watching.
What am I doing today that my children are going to mimic? Today, I’m going to smile!
