yellow lovelies… and promises remembered

God has many promises for believers in His word:

daffodil2** He will supply our need. **

[But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19]

** His grace IS sufficient. **

[And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me….for when I am weak, then am I strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9, 10]

** As a believer, we will always have a way of escape from temptation.**

[Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthans 10:13]

** No matter how bleak it looks, the Lord knows our heart and can work any situation for our good.

[Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:26-28]

And as marvelous as these are, they are only a few of the promises found in His Word!

But I think one of my favorite {outside of eternal life} is found in

Lamentations 3: 21-23, This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.  It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

God has compassion on ME, on YOU!

** His compassions are NEW… every. single. day! **

His mercy prevents our very souls from being consumed by the evil one. His FAITHFULNESS to US is great!

daffodil3And as a simple reminder to me, I see these yellow lovelies every year… just when winter seems to be more than I can bare. Just when the dreariness of clouds and short days and sometimes rainy-days-on-end cause me to begin to feel hopeless that spring will ever come {even though I KNOW it will because it DOES every year!}, these little beauties poke their sunshine up right out of the ground and remind me, once again, that not only will spring come….

but God is in control… He has compassion on my soul and His mercy prevents my consuming.

He is faithful, and all His compassions are new every. single. day.

compassions are new1

  1. YES. Lamentations 3:21 has been a ‘get through’ verse for me many times through the Lords. And I am STILL amazed at the depth of HIS compassions for ME! Thanks for sharing

  2. I have a friend who always says, “The end of the matter with God is always good so if it’s not good, it’s simply not the end of the matter.” I thought about that as I was reading parts of your post.
