Pitter Patter Pumpernickel

Where did that come from!

If any of you are familiar with Patch the Pirate, you may have heard Sissy Seagull say that her heart does this many times as she saw another breathtaking bird.

Where am I going with this?

Though Dale and I have been married 4o years now….when he walks in the door in the evenings, or I see him across a room…my heart still goes “pitter patter pumpernickel”.

I’m SO very thankful for the relationship God has given us! It wasn’t always great as we had so much to learn…getting married so young.

God was very gracious to us and we knew we wanted to serve Him with our whole hearts and live for Him. As our children came along, it was our heart’s desire that they would love Him and live for Him too, and He has let us have our heart’s desire! We are so blessed! But for the grace of God…….

One wonderful thing we can give our children is to strive to have a very stable home..one without fussing and fighting…and if we do our best to live by HIS rules…His Word…it can happen!

You many not believe me, but we never fuss and fight. As I said, it wasn’t always so, but I’d like to think after 4o years we’ve grown closer to the Lord and each other. Our only “argument” these days is….’where do you want to eat? O I don’t know, what do you want? It doesn’t matter..I’ll eat anything’. No, we are SO not perfect and are definitely not above falling!

My point…..strive to be that wonderful help-meet for your husband. May your children grow up saying…”mom and dad have always loved each other and I always felt secure.”

By God’s mercy and grace and following His instructions, it will happen!

Titus 2:4,5: That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discret, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

I pray your heart too, will always go “pitter patter pumpernickel”.

God blesses when we do our best to follow Him.

  1. Thank you for this post! As necessary as it is for our children to know we love them, the security they receive from knowing their parents’ love for each other is so vital!
